Imagesetter Sets the Standard for Quality Offset Printing
The ECRM ScriptSetter imagesetter Smartplate direct to plate at Venture Print Unlimited, Inc is another example of our commitment to offer our customers the most complete in-house, state-of-the-art services. With the imagesetter we can now print files directly from our computers as 2540 dpi positive prints or high resolution negatives ready to be transferred to plates for offset printing. For our clients, this will mean faster turnaround, better quality and, in many cases, lower prices for offset printing jobs . The imagesetter, which uses lasers with light sensitive film at a resolution of 2540 dpi (a typical laser printer might be 300 or 600 dpi and ink jet printers even lower), eliminates one time-consuming step in the process of getting a job from client to printing press. Previously, we had to rely on an outside service bureau to provide this service for our clients. This lengthened the turnaround time on projects and limited our control on certain design elements. If we used an alternative method, involving traditional darkroom processes, it proved more time consuming and did not provide the best quality. In addition to providing increased efficiency and higher quality, the ECRM ScriptSetter VR36 imagesetter allows the designers at Venture Print Unlimited, Inc to add more creativity to our design projects. We can now add design elements to projects that previously would have been impossible or too time-consuming to be cost effective. With our new Imagesetter we will not only be able to give our existing clients better service, but we will also be able to offer this service to other print shops and designers who would like to print negatives from our computers. Outside designers can download a copy of our printer descriptions and save the graphic file as a postscript file. This eliminates the need to have the same programs and fonts that the designer had when the project was created.
