Computer to Press

All files except pdf (Adobe Acrobat Format) and Freehand files must include graphics, screen and PostScript fonts or truetype fonts. A printout is required to confirm our output to your image. A color separated printout is required for multicolor jobs.

Mac File Formats

1. Freehand 9 or below text converted to paths, embed all images
2. Freehand 9 or below saved as pdf file, B&W only, embed all fonts
3. Pagemaker 6-6.5 saved as pdf file, B&W only, embed all fonts
4. Pagemaker 6-6.5 with all fonts & graphic files
5. Quark Express 4 and below with all fonts & graphic files

PC File Formats

6. Freehand 9 or below with text saved to paths, embed all images

Font Substitutions: We will use the closest Macintosh Font to substitute pc-only fonts in Pagemaker and Quark PC files. To avoid this, use the pdf file (Adobe Acrobat Format) option, embed all fonts.

Printable Area: The largest Printable area is 20"x 28" on 20.5" x 28.5" paper.

Images: should be tiff, or eps format no more than 3OOdpi at 100% scale color, grayscale or halftone images, 6OOdpi for line art.

File Size: Excessive resolution, beyond 300 dpi, 600 dpi for line art, will result in longer processing time at no increase in quality. Extra turnaround time and processing charges may occur for larger files.

Color: To avoid unexpected results, process images entirely in CMYK color mode. Multi-color jobs must include a color separated printout for color breaks.

E-mail Files: Max of 2 megabytes compressed as Zip Archives, Stuff-it Binhex Archive or PublisherPac n' Go Archives. Compressing is necessary to protect files from corruption during transmission. Files over 2 meg - 3.5 meg maximum will require an additional download charge.

Media: We accept PC or Mac formatted 100 megabyte zip disks, floppy disks and CD's.
